Spline Ball Ionizer (SBI)

The SBI™ creates an enhanced area of protection than standard air terminals which collect lightning strikes from a single direction only (based on a single tip/point).

Under intense storm conditions, the SBI™ functions as a highly effective air terminal, safely collecting any strikes it cannot avoid. In contrast to wired-brush devices that are often left ineffective after a single strike, the SBI™ continues to reduce the risk of subsequent strikes.

The RGA™ is a proactive Lightning Protection Bonding for Floating Roof Tanks (FRT) to form part of a comprehensive Lightning Strike Protection for the facility. Through an appropriate number of RGAs installed, the risks of lightning related tank fires are substantially reduced. The RGA provides direct electrical bonding connection between the floating roof and the tank shell and outperforms other traditional bonding methods such as shunts, cables and staircase walkway.
